Karen Bogart, Ph.D. President/CEO.
Dr. Karen Bogart is a social psychologist, researcher and
evaluator, with a focus for more than 20 years on improving
opportunities for underrepresented populations in education, employment
and entrepreneurship. Dr. Bogart:
- conducts evaluations, using survey as well as qualitative research
methods, for a variety of clients representing public and private
sectors such as: the University of the District of Columbia
(1998-present): the National Association For Equal Opportunity (NAFEO,
1998), the Office of Educational Research and Improvement in the U.S.
Department of Education(1996-1997), the National Research
Council/National Academy of Sciences (1995-1996), the Consortium for
the Advancement of Private Higher Education and the Council of
Independent Colleges 1995-1997), the National Institutes of Health
(1994).
- Has written numerous funded contracts and grants for public and private sources.
- Has served as Principal Investigator of more than 17 grants
from such sources as Carnegie Corporation of New York and the Fund for
the Improvement of Postsecondary Education.
- Has authored more than 60 publications, including two books, monographs, chapters and articles in refereed journals.
Harry Morgan, Ph.D. Vice President. Professor of Physics at the University of the District of Columbia Dr. Morgan:
- Has taught physics to undergraduates at UDC for more than 25 years.
- Holds research grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST).
- Developed science programs for and teaches science to inner city elementary school students.
- Won numerous teaching and research grants, not only supporting
his own research but creating opportunities for undergraduate students
in physics and supporting the development of a research infrastructure
at the University of the District of Columbia.
- Conducted research in the area of Remote Sensing at the National Institutes on Standards and Technology.
