from a wide background. Below are the staff bios.
Karen Bogart,
Ph.D. President/CEO.
Dr. Karen Bogart is a social psychologist, researcher and evaluator, with a
focus for more than 20 years on improving opportunities for
underrepresented populations in education, employment and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Bogart:
- conducts evaluations, using
survey as well as qualitative research methods, for a variety of
clients representing public and private sectors such as: the
University of the District of Columbia (1998-present): the National
Association For Equal Opportunity (NAFEO, 1998), the Office of
Educational Research and Improvement in the U.S. Department of
Education(1996-1997), the National Research Council/National Academy
of Sciences (1995-1996), the Consortium for the Advancement of Private
Higher Education and the Council of Independent Colleges 1995-1997),
the National Institutes of Health (1994).
- Has written numerous funded
contracts and grants for public and private sources.
- Has served as Principal
Investigator of more than 17 grants from such sources as Carnegie
Corporation of New York and the Fund for the Improvement of
Postsecondary Education.
- Has authored more than 60
publications, including two books, monographs, chapters and articles
in refereed journals.
Elliot
Bogart, Ph.D. Vice President and database/data/report analyst. Dr. Bogart:
- Retired as a nuclear physicist / biophysicist after
developing large-scale simulations for nuclear waste and cancer cell
drug treatments.
- Developed a system in the database language SQL to
transition hundreds of fields to a new normalized database system
(KIDS2)
- Prepared systems to perform data validation,
automatic correction, and automatic outcome analysis.
- Designed and supervised the preparation of reports generating
demographic data tables, participant characteristics, and performance
measures for the funding agency (HRSA).
